How Did The Houston Chapter Start?
The Houston Zeitgeist Chapter originally started in January 2010 when a few of us gathered together for the first official
meeting organized by Karen Siragusa. From that point on we started meeting once a month and managed to pull off a successful
event on March 13 for ZDay 2010 where we showed Zeitgeist: Addendum at the University of Houston. Since then our chapter
organizer had to leave the state and have reorganized the chapter. We are now meeting once a week every Saturday and our
numbers are starting to grow.
Below you'll find some brief background information on our members so our new members can get better acquainted before the
meetings.

Oscar Gomez - I'm a student at the University of Houston going for a Computer Science major. I first heard of Zeitgeist through a friend around November 2008. At the time Zeitgeist: Addendum had just recently been released so I watched it first. The movie changed my world forever, everything suddenly came into focus and I wanted to help in any way I could. I started developing ZeitgeistResources.com around January of 2009. A simple site for Zeitgeist members to post up and find resources of all kinds. Soon I will be finishing up the Houston site to help any current and new members get involved, keep up with the weekly meetings and maintain project happenings.
I hope to see you at the next meeting! |
Seraphyn Villars - I'm a writer, avid reader, pianist, and I am about to start working towards becoming an actor. I'm also an excellent playlist-builder :p. I learned about The Zeitgeist Movement/The Venus Project in 2009, through a good friend from high school. I started really looking at the world in 2004, and even back then, it was clear to me that the monetary system was a hindrance to the social and technological progress of humanity. I knew that we already had the technology to eliminate hunger, poverty, and scarcity, and wondered why we didn't. Upon viewing Zeitgeist: Addendum, I knew that a Resource Based Economy was the answer, so I immediately delved into learning all about The Venus Project. I will do my damnedest to make sure Jacque Fresco did not work his whole life developing this system, only to see it rejected- in fact, I've made it my goal to help make sure Jacque sees his (and indeed all of our) dream for the future of humanity realized.

| Alsha Villagomez - I am a music composer/ producer. I am also a Wiccan Priestess. I have been an avid researcher of "What is really going on?" ever since 9/11. After carefully studying documentaries such as Food Inc., America: Freedom to Fascism, Walmart: Anti-American, Capitalism: a Love Story, Don't Tread on Me, The Network, Collapse, and the Zeitgeist movies, it is clear that many different people are all saying the same things. At this point, I can longer ignore and am no longer satisfied with what's happening. I joined the movement in November of 2009, coz I believe that all the knowledge we have acquired over the ages as a race should be used to the highest degree of love for our home and every fellow human being. We should be proper stewards of the land and of each other. Blessed Be! |
| Erin Seago - I am a Nurse, specializing in Holistic Medicine, currently working in Internal Medicine. I'm also a Relaxation Therapist and Spiritual Counselor. I have been an Herbalist and Aromatherapist for 10 years now. I will be furthering my education in a Health Sciences and Holistic Medicine. My goal is to run my own Holistic Clinic first starting in Houston and with a lot of time branch out in other areas. I'm also working on a full report on a functional Holistic Health Care System geared for a Resource Based Economy. My dream is to see Holistic and Allopathic Medicine come together in unity. |
Douglas Mallette - I graduated high school in 1994 and served in the Navy until 1998. Several years later I returned to school to refocus my career ambitions to space exploration and development. I received my degree in Engineering Technology (Space Systems) in December of 2007 and currently live in Houston, TX. with my wife and 6 year old daughter.
I am a Systems Engineer working with the Space Shuttle Program & manage a Blog (http://thespaceadvocate.blogspot.com) where I discusses current news, trends and stories as they pertain to space, science, technology and society.
Of course I am also an advocate of The Venus Project, an organization dedicated to the social advancement of humanity beyond our current detrimental cycles, using science, engineering and technology as a means to better the planet and all life on it.
To that end I made the videos Awakening (which is somewhat popular I guess), Our Technical Reality, the Houston Humanists Lecture and more, which can all be found on my YouTube Channel:
http://www.youtube.com/user/TZMSocialEvolution
I am also a recognized speaker on behalf of the Venus Project, most recently having been invited to speak at the international Caux Initiatives of Change Conference in Switzerland regarding sustainability from August 4th to 10th, 2010.
Lastly, I've published a book called Turning Point: How Space Exploration and Development Will Determine the Rise or Fall of Humanity. The book can currently be found on www.lulu.com. |
Jason Stavinoha - I'm a native Houstonian, UofH graduate with an electrical engineering degree and technical sales background. I've always known that things weren't quite right, and I agree with the many before me who have said that we are imprisoned, although the vast majority chooses to ignore this fact.
We, united with the collective consciousness, can make a difference, thus bringing about the dawning of a "Golden Age."
Many secrets are being revealed. The pace of this information being divulged is accelerating. I wholeheartedly support this, therefore will fight to maintain it. Knowledge is the basis for all. |
Daniel Neeley - my name is Daniel, i am 18. i recently viewed the zeitgeist movement videos, as recommended via a friend i was imminently dawn in; as i have always felt there might be a way to better ourself as a society and came to the conclusion this might be the only way. i hope to get to know many of you very well.
as i am also a college student, i would also like to have an opportunity to take this movement into my school and share the truth with my fellow class mates hopefully rousing the interest of those around me. i stand to be thoroughly involved and make a difference |
| Travis Duckworth - I'm very spiritual. That is maybe the only thing I have consistent in my life, I am only 20 though. When I think of Zeitgeist I see an opportunity to bring the world to a new state of conciousness. I see world unity, and I love that quote by Gandhi that says we must become the change we want to see in the world. This is one more head on the cause. I hope that I can help Zeitgeist inspire more people around my area and it will be awesome to watch our numbers grow. Imagine the possibilities of one Earth instead of split into a hundred or so subcategories. That's worth dying for. "I am my own limitation-without my own limitation, I am." |
Sean Seago - I graduated from high school in '98 and went to Sam Houston State University for a degree in Computer Science for only 2 semesters before becoming distracted by my life outside of school. It is during this time that my eyes were opened. I was introduced to the Venus Project in '98 and again in 2008. My wife, Erin, and I got involved with the Zeitgeist movement late in 2009.
I am currently going back to school with a new focus and hope to attend Rice University and study Quantum Mechanics.
I am currently working on a number of research/development projects and will gladly accept additional brain power if your interests are in any of the following:
* Solid State Electronics
* Life Support Systems as They Pertain to Space Exploration
* Quantum/Particle Physics
* Artificial Intelligence
* High Flux Magnetics and High Potential Electronics
Research blog started 2010-10-21 is at m31collective.blogspot.com |
John Rivera - I grew up in Houston and I'm currently out of the great state of Texas for work reasons.
But I hope to be a more active member soon I'm still doing a lot of reading myself I feel like this has been a continuing process that started back in 2008 when I saw the first two films. In the last six months I've had the pleasure of reading "The Tyranny of Words" by Stewart Chase (My favorite book so far!! Highly recommend to any one and everyone who has ever heard a speech or listened to any political, or religious leaders, teachers. So yea that should be everyone cant stress this one enough), "The Mind In the Making" by James Harvey Robinson, "The Science of Human Engineering" by Alfred Alfred Korzybski "War is Racket" by Gen. Smedley D. Butler and "The Best That Money Cant Buy" by Jacque Fresco. All are great reads and I would recommend to anyone. I am constantly learning more and more and I hope to one day be able to reach out to people close to me and help them understand. If you'd like to contact me for any reason go ahead and send me a message at jh.rvera1011@gmail.com |
Jorge Lugo - I am a musician / writer. I enjoy and love all forms of arts: visual, performing, and written. I am very spiritual and ever since I was a little kid I was very different from most kids because rather than worrying about nonesense & "trends," I fell in love with nature. In the words of Edgar Allan Poe "and all I lov'd I lov'd alone." I'd like to think I am a very open-minded indiviudal and I love to constantly learn new things.
I firts heard about the Zeitgeist movie in 2010 and I watched it and I was blown away by the artistic potential used for educational purposes. For years, I have always been huge into conspiracy and I always seemed to stumble across all kinds of "conspiracy bitching," if I may. Finally, I saw Addendum and right then and there I realized, THERE IS A SOLUTION!
So, ever since I knew right away that this was my calling. Not to mention the great amount of positive vibration form the new people that I met from day one. It is nice to know that I am not alone. With that said, you are never alone because if that were the case then there would not be others who also feel alone. We are all together in being alone, therefore, we are NOT alone. |
| Sara Kannegieter - Hey there!!! I'm Sara Kannegieter (Kann*A*Gator) I live in Bryan, TX. We don't have a chapter here, so I drive the almost two hours to come to the Houston meetings every Saturday... Good thing I like to drive!! During the week I'm a special needs school bus driver for Bryan ISD... I love my job because I love working with the kids, they just brighten up my day I love making them smile!! I really just love helping people!!! In the Houston chapter they call me Fluffy Bunny, except for Erin, she said my new name is Rainbow Bright... You can call me pretty much anything you want to call me as long as it's not something mean, I don't tolerate meanness!! ;) Anyways, if you have any questions about me, just ask them I will probably be more than happy to answer them for you!!! If you need to contact me my phone # is 713-557-8107 and my e-mail is Saragator@gmail.com... Hope to see you soon!! |
Jose Perez - Student of U of H for three semesters. Music is a hobby and my medium for mental displacement. No certificates or degrees in anything, just eagerness in inquiry of everything. I long for the termination of social strata.
Saw Zeitgeist movies a week before Z-day 2010 and from then on I have had a keener focus on how and why this world should be healed and saved for future generations.
We are the species fittest to investigate our planet and maintain interdependence and cooperation of all species on earth, and so every single mind, along with body, holds the highest value through their potential for sustainability of the earth. |
Cathy Elaine - I am very excited to find this group. Before I even heard of the Zeitgeist movies, a vision was born in me of a community that was all about giving. If we were all free to give what we are, we could truly live instead of "making a living". Musicians wouldn't have to have a "day job". Giving is a much higher energy than trade in my view.
I am a massage therapist, and I have long felt that human touch is a basic human need. I have never felt comfortable setting "fees", even though it is the expected way of doing things, and even those who contact me expect it. Some people are willing to receive free massage, but don't seem to understand that the value of the gift isn't any lower without a fee being attached.
And it has always bothered me that in many cases, the people who work the hardest in an organization get paid the least.
I look forward to the day when everyone's gifts are valued, and freely given, and no one's contribution is seen as less than because it can't be sold at a premium. |
Michael Quinn - I'm Michael David Quinn
Credited voice actor in ZEITGEIST: MOVING FORWARD | OFFICIAL RELEASE | 2011 (@ 2hours:40 minutes).

Sean Garner - I am 26 years old, married and we expecting our first child in October 2011. I am a former University of Houston (main campus) student who majored in Architecture and was a member of the Honors College. Unfortunately, due to an inability to maintain my studies while commuting (METRO for ~4 hours/day), I had to set my dreams to the back-burner as rising commuting and living costs took priority over my aspirations. I attempted to attend community college for Nursing, but found myself with a seemingly insurmountable mound of debt and was forced to dedicate my full time to the monetary system's slavery.
For the past several years, I have become "just another" cog in the slavery machine and have reached the boiling point of tolerance for the ways of the world, more specifically the Obama administration and its direct impact on my self, family, community and the human organism. Upon seeing the interview with Peter Joseph on RT (RussiaToday), I discovered The Movement and The Venus Project. The impact the movies and interviews has had on me is beyond words and I do not feel comfortable continuing to play a contributing part in the vicious slavery system we are indoctrinated in today. |
| Natalie Ruiz - I am a mother of 4 wonderful children and a La Marque native. Just relocated to Webster from SA for the past 5 years. I've been following TZM since watching the first doc Zeitgeist:the movie in 2008. I've been with the tx chapter as well since. I am continuing to focus on and work with the childhood education realm of the movement. Save Our Schools - http://www.facebook.com/groups/227061170639977/ this is a site for sharing ideas for school reforum, helping families cope with the economic down falls while educating on RBE concepts and how it can improve education on many levels. I look forward to meeting and sharing with all of you and making dreams reality. Peace |
